OUR GOAL
The goal is to return the lodge to its place in time when it showcased what the Gilded Age in Newport represented. With its prominent location on Bellevue Avenue, Newport Elks Lodge #104 has much to offer historically, locally, and within the State.
WHY WE WANT TO RESTORE THE ESTATE
Due to the age of the building, restoration, updates and renovations are drastically needed to ensure the preservation of the structure and, at the same time, enable the property to realize its’ full potential generating increased revenue which, in turn, will allow the lodge to increase its’ charitable giving to local community and State entities.
ASSESSED NEEDS
Immediate, short term major restoration and preservation include the windows on all three floors to maintain their historical integrity and eliminate weather related deterioration; historical renovation of the porch decking and railing; overhaul of integral gutters and fire escape wrought iron fixture; updating the building’s mechanical and electrical systems; exterior wood and brick masonry foundation; and renovating bathrooms, common areas, and access to meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements.

Completed: Main Staircase Restoration
We are happy to share that the main staircase and it's beautiful stained glass windows have been successfully restored to their natural beauty at this time.
In Progress: Windows, Doors & Floors
We are excited to announce that the window restoration project was completed in September 2024. We are still working on the floors and doors. Every donation helps!
